Nonprofit Brings Yoga to Kids in Poverty | Sara Downey-Robinson | Rise Up Yoga

Sara Downey- Robinson is the Founder and Executive Director of Rise Up Yoga, a nonprofit bringing trauma-informed yoga to kids in low-income public schools, teaching them stress resilience and mindfulness so they can succeed in life.

Rise Up Yoga will empower 3,000 + kids in the 2017-2018 school year in Colorado with plans to take the programs nationwide.

Sara came up with the idea by wanting to solve a big problem in our society: kids living in poverty.

She saw situations of low-income, poor nutrition, housing insecurity and drug addiction all within her local communities and was inspired to make a change

As Sara puts it:

I was tired of being a part of the rhetoric and instead, wanted to be a part of the action.

Therefore, children have been being blessed ever since.

While it’s undoubtedly exciting to hone in on your purpose, get a brilliant idea off the ground, and make an impact in the world, the government obstacles, regulations, and paperwork required to start your nonprofit can stop you in your tracks if you don’t have the right solutions.

Sara blasted through these obstacles and got her 501(c)3 quick and hassle-free, allowing her to focus on her mission and serve her community.

In this delightful conversation on Changemakers on Yippiekiyay TV, you’ll learn about:

  • The quick and hassle-free way to get your 501(c)3
  • How Sara’s 501(c)3 solution saved her time, money, stress and expedited the launch of her nonprofit
  • Sara’s advice on following your nonprofit dreams

And so much more.

It shouldn’t be hard to do good, and your dreams matter. We can help you get them off the ground.

So, if you’re wasting your time, money and brainpower trying to figure out how to get your 501(c)3 and just want to focus on your mission, then this episode is for you and a must share for anyone else you know of dealing with the same problem.
